I've never seen an episode of the Hannah Montana show, never watched the Hannah Montana movie, none of that, so I played this game without any expectations. That said, I was surprised to see that Hannah Montana actually had potential to be a good game, and I'm sure that if you put this game in front of a five-year-old that doesn't know any better, they'll likely love it...But it falls short of being a decent game to everyone else on so many levels. You can play a boring fetch-quest action game where you’re pointed to any and all objectives - no need to try to figure anything out, your hand is held the whole way. The other parts of the game are the concert scenes, which you can pass with a score of 0. Yes, zero. I literally laid the controller down for an entire song and watched the screen tell me "Great job!" There is no challenge here, there's plenty of bugs, including one that prevents the game from advancing near the end of the game...it's just bad. It could have been decent with some tweaks to the difficulty to make it at least a little challenging to the youngsters that play it, or even for older folks that may want to revisit this down the road to remember their childhood but actually want a challenge...Unfortunately, it's a turd fest that tells you that you're the best person who ever lived because you put the controller down to take a dump while you were supposed to be putting on a concert for your fans.

I liked Indigo Prophecy a lot...but I felt like the story kinda lost its way by the time the credits rolled. So, when Heavy Rain was announced, I was excited, but also dreading that it may turn out the same way – a great start to the story to hook me, then disappointment as the game went on. Thankfully, Quantic Dream took the great aspects of Indigo Prophecy and improved upon them...And it included a well-made, interesting story that is fantastic from beginning to end, to boot. I gladly played the game repeatedly just to see how the game world would react to the different choices I made in the many different situations I found myself in. I replayed it again for this website for the first time in nearly a decade, and I was amazed that I remembered the vast majority of the story. My memory isn’t the best, but this game stuck with me. Heavy Rain is definitely my favorite game that Quantic Dream has ever put out and a top contender for my favorite game overall on the Playstation 3. If you’re a fan of adventure games and/or games with a great narrative, then Heavy Rain is likely a game that you’ll love as well.

I don’t really understand the appeal of Hustle Kings. Giving it a 6.5 out of 10, I’m a bit below the average critic in terms of score, though user reviews seem to fall more in line with my score. My biggest gripe is the computer AI. On the easiest setting, the first game I played was me breaking the rack, then the computer taking over and literally hitting EVERY SINGLE SHOT. Yes, playing against the computer on easy, the only turn I got was my first turn, breaking. Other games against the computer weren’t THAT bad, but I never saw the computer AI miss more than two shots in a single game. I like a challenge, but the computer is genuinely a pool hustler, and that ain’t fun. I also have issues with the physics, the poor point of view, how some tables/arenas colors blend together so it’s not always easy seeing the pockets…I just don’t understand the appeal of this game. Like I said, my score seems to be in the minority, so plenty of people liked Hustle Kings…I just don’t happen to be one of them. This game couldn’t hustle out of my Playstation 3 fast enough.

I've got mixed feelings about Hyperdimension Neptunia…it's a very basic RPG. And by very basic, I mean VERY basic. The game is essentially split into three parts - watch dialogue between characters, explore dungeons, and fight battles. If you ever wanted to focus purely on attacking in battles, then this game is for you - instead of taking time to use those pesky healing items or spells, you set skills to be used at a certain percentage rate, depending on how you set them up. I have no idea what the percentage rate is…I had skills set to 100%, and when the criteria was met, it was not being done 100% of the time. This makes the exact same battle bounce between frustratingly difficult to ridiculously easy depending purely on luck. You get to see this first-hand, too…if you lose a fight, you can try again immediately afterward. You could lose the same fight two times in a row, make zero changes, and easily win on the third attempt. Dungeon exploring isn't anything special…but since your healing is based on luck, you may find yourself attempting to fight another battle or two before a boss fight simply because you may actually leave that random fight with more health than when you started…if you're lucky. Last is the dialogue…the majority of the game is the dialogue, and it all involves stationary images with mild movement. It can be VERY boring at times. Thankfully, though, much (though not all) of the dialogue is clever and makes up for much of the game's shortcomings…Neptune, in particular, is a very likeable character. The game as a whole also has a certain charm to it…when I first started playing, I wasn't sure if I was going to stick with it….but after an hour or two, I found myself hooked and I stayed until the credits rolled. Hyperdimension Neptunia isn't for everyone, but it's charming enough where some folks may be over to overlook many of its flaws. Count me as one of those people.
