JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Heritage for the Future (also simply known as Jojo's Bizarre Adventure outside of Japan) is basically an enhanced version of JoJo's Venture. Think of how Street Fighter II changed from the original to its various re-releases, and you'll understand what you get here. Basically, this game is everything that you'd find in JoJo's Venture, plus some extras and improvements. First, the gameplay is tweaked a bit - some of the fights that felt a bit cheap in JoJo's Venture feel a bit less cheap here…not enough to eliminate all frustrations that some players may experience, but it is definitely more balanced. Aside from the gameplay tweaks and improvements, this game introduces a whopping nine new playable characters to the roster, taking the playable fighter count from thirteen in JoJo's Venture to twenty-two In this game. With all of the improvements and additions, this game surpasses the original version in absolutely every way.

JoJo's Venture was Capcom's attempt to make a 2D fighting game off of the popular manga in Japan named JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Based off of what I see on Wikipedia, it's based on the third volume, where certain folks have developed supernatural abilities known as "Stands." A Stand is kinda like a shadow that fights with you. These Stands are the main gameplay aspect that sets JoJo's Venture apart from other 2D fighting games. Basically, you can use the stands to increase your strength, use special attacks, and even have them attack independently of your fighter. The catch is that while your Stand can attack, it can also take damage. So, if your stand gets hit, your health bar goes down like if you were hit, which brings in some offensive and defensive strategy into the gameplay that's exclusive to the JoJo games. JoJo's Venture has a playable cast of 13 characters, each one pretty unique from each other. That decent-sized and interesting cast of characters mixed with the unique gameplay results in a very solid 2D fighting game. It's not quite Street Fighter II caliber, but it's still a very solid fighting game that any fan of the genre will likely enjoy.
