AeroWings is a flight simulator for the Dreamcast, and it does what it sets out to do…but that’s about it. While most of the scenery is beautifully created, AeroWings does feel like it gets pretty dull pretty quickly. On top of that, since this is a flight simulator, this isn’t exactly going to be a pick-up-and-play game for most folks. You’ll have to learn how to control your aircraft, which I reckon some players just simply won’t have the patience for when they discover that the closest thing to “action” that this game provides is rotating the plane to squeeze through a hole in a canyon. Once you get used to everything, AeroWings provides a pretty relaxing experience…but also a pretty uneventful one for the average gamer. If you’re into flight simulators, though, and/or if you don’t mind a relaxing game, sans action, that takes a little time to get used to the controls then you may find something to like here.

Aqua GT is much better than I had initially expected it to be, in all honesty. I saw that it never released anywhere outside of Europe on the Dreamcast, and no offense to any European readers, but that is not usually a good sign. But I played it anyway, and while it’s nowhere near the quality of a water-based racing game like Hydro Thunder, it isn’t horrible, either. Basically, in Aqua GT you race boats…and that’s about it. Nothing fancy, no frills, just plain ol’ racing on the water in boats…and unfortunately, that’s what prevents this game from being better than it is. The racing itself is kind of underwhelming, but a few features and modes could have potentially made the game a little more bearable to play. Ultimately, I feel like Aqua GT is just short of passable, but I’ve played much, much worse than this as well. If boat racing sounds interesting to you, you may find some enjoyment in Aqua GT…just don’t expect the fun to last too long.
