Whizz Buzz was a mathematical exercise game for the Commodore PET computer that's only slightly more than an electronic version of flash cards. Basically, when you start the game, you're asked to choose a number, and then another number. Then set a time limit. Then the game begins. You'll see a box near the top of the screen with a number in it. You'll either press the number key for one of the two numbers that you selected at the start or the zero key each time a number appears in that box. If the number either contains one of the two numbers that you selected or divides by one of the numbers you selected to get a whole number, then pick the correct number. If the number in the box can't be divided by either number to get a whole number and if the number in the box doesn't contain either of the numbers that you chose, then you'll want to press the zero key. If you made the right choice, a checkmark will appear to the right of the boxed number. If you made a wrong choice, then an X will appear to the left of the boxed number. You'll keep repeating that sequence of events over and over until the time limit runs out. At that point, you'll be given the results, with how many correct and incorrect that you got, and the option to see the high scores. So, for example, if this had been used in a classroom setting, you could have the class compete and see who the top math "whizz" was in the classroom. Anyway, I think this would have been mildly fun as a classroom exercise when I was a kid…but if I had this at home, I'm not sure if I'd bother playing it very much. It technically succeeds at what it aims to do, though, and it's not really broken in any way, so I'll give it a passable score. Unless you're a mathematics fanatic, though, you probably won't find much here to keep you coming back for more.
