Zoocube is a game that I’ve looked at for a long time, but never actually played. Then I played it…and I kinda wish I had continued on with that non-play streak. When it was a mystery, it was so much cooler in my mind than what it actually is. For those not in the know, Zoocube is a game where blocks representing animals float from various areas of the screen towards a cube in the middle. Your goal is to rotate that cube so that the animal block lands on a side of the cube that you want. Then, keep rotating the cube until you can match three animal blocks to make them disappear, and to also make a decapitated animal head appear…almost like it’s giving you a decapitated thank you. As the rounds get faster, it feels like you’re in one of those rubix cube solution contests, just spinning the cube around, hoping to get the solution that you’re aiming for. As an animal lover, I was hoping to really enjoy Zoocube. Instead, I’ve discovered that I’m very thankful that since its release into the wild retail shelves, Zoocube has basically become extinct.
